Title: FarRide East #27
Post by: ST2UP on June 04, 2013, 01:50:09 PM
Well it looks as though I am to have company on this FarRide #27......Pockey has decided the orange FarRiders cap will go with some particular part of her considerable wardrobe and is keen to earn the cap for herself.

We have a few 700 k days under our belt that were tolerable 2UP......so this shouldn't be an unreasonable challenge to knock over.

Now where to go ??......probably west young man, less little towns and 110 limits.

Urbenville looks ok for me as well, as does the FR to Mallacoota the weekend before.  Both are now on my calendar  :wht11

I only have 194,000kms on the ST11, so got a while to go before its too old...perhaps...  Anyway, I have Biloela (3,000kms there and back) and a Border run to do in August (5,000kms or so there and back). Bargara is 3,000kms or so there and back (this weekend), so have to think about tyres..hmmm..current new ones should do these rides...I hope

Have to update this, as in the next few weeks the old ST11 will be over 210,000kms. How time and distance flies... New tyres on, fork oil done etc etc.

I am down for a FR12 for #27.  Up the coast with a detour or so, get to Kempsey from Canberra on Friday afternoon then finish off the ride at Urbenville in the morning.

Mallacoota I am treating as a day ride, but as it is only 300kms there have to plan a bit more..I am thinking knocking over 700kms the day before, stay at home, then wander down to Mallacoota on the day, as only doing a FR10

I would but it's a clash for me.  There's a rally in Vic that I'm attending and planning an IBA ride to it.

That's the problem now; there aren't many isolated destinations that can accommodate the numbers that the rising popularity of LD riding is attracting.

56 is not that uncommon.  Many turn up and keep on going.  It is all good.  Nambucca is probably bigger, but I don't keep count of numbers.

Its not so long ago that registration opened and it hit the 63 mark by the end of the first day....then climbed to over 120 odd. With i think about 105 actually getting the job done.
