G'day my name is Noel ,i live in Emerald C.Q as my title suggests ,i'm ST Dreaming .hope to buy in the next few months, saw you club in the pages of road rider, looks like a great time was had by all.Just noticed the price in R.R for a new st ,$15,620+orc ,if this is correct it will kill the second hand market. So is this year the last of the line?My current rides are a Honda Varadero, and two Kawasaki gpz900r's,one mint one rough.Anyhow will have a look around the site see what i can learn.took one for a test ride a few years ago and made up my mind there and then i'd have one,so with a bit of luck(house sells) i'll soon be shopping.Regards Noel. :13CandyThat's the one i want.
-
Welcome Noel. With or without an ST, you should pop over to Biloela when the crew invade there for an overnight stay.
Check out the Qld section for the details. You won't regret getting an ST, regardless of colour.
Cheers.
Skip.

Welcome Noel,
I go to Rubyvale/Sapphire to a mates place looking for rocks underground every now and then, so we should catch up.
Cheers
Dave

Welcome Noel.....your most welcome here even without a ST, but once you see the fun we have with our bikes here.....bet you have one sooner than later.

Hi Noel, welcome mate. Can't agree more on the candy 1300, just got one. :13Candy

G'day Noel and welcome from the SA crew. My local dealer informed me that there may only be a couple of new ST left in Australia at the run-out prices. Sadly, they are no longer being manufactured, and the value of second hand units will skyrocket since they are such a desirable motorcycle.
-
Welcome on in Noel, enjoy your time here :beer

Welcome On In Noel :clap

They're always coming up on the 'net. Red is the most popular colour, for obvious reasons.
Buying second-hand is definitely the way to go, unless unbelievable run-out sales like that 2012 model one come along.

Everybodies welcome

Welcome from one Noel to another

Hi ST dreaming.....
I've post about a bike in Rock vagas. Looks a good buy with some nice extras.... The Red ST's are over rated anyway..... Blue is best.
A couple of us from Townsville are going to Biloela I'm on a 1300 and the other guys on an 1100 but don't worry about him, his old girl has a million k's on it so it only got 7 or 8 lives left. I think he tried to put it down once, but it wouldn't die...
As for problems with the ST's .... There's not really much until you get into the really high k's (150,000 plus) and then its really only maintenance eg timing chain and so forth.
A couple of members have had isolated faults occur, such as windscreen gearing fail, but there really that, isolated and really a "who knows why" issue. All jokes aside The ST is really built very well, low maintenance compared to other bikes, great on fuel, 500 k's on a tank is relatively normal, smooth to ride and built like a brick.... Well you know the rest.
There's now a motorcycle tech on our pages to I get advice, plenty of how to do's. hopefully honda will see the error of their ways and introduce a new model in the future.
AnywY, a warm welcome and hope to see you in Biloela...

Thanks for the info,i guess with Honda there's not much that goes wrong.my Varadero in the 12 years iv'e had it iv'e replaced the fork seals and one fuel pump ,a couple of hundred dollars all up.thanks Noel

Saaz mate you can't sell your history.my old gpz might feel rough compared to the dero or a ST but it still has that something that makes me smile.

Think it was you I met today at Luddenham,
I'm terrible with names.
Just remembered you saying you and the other half were on your way home to Emerald.
Great looking STeed and even better value for what you got.
Safe travels and hope you get to catchup with other OzTOC members on your way home.

Good onya Noel - sounds like you've got everything sussed.
Love the 900Rs - they were a few furlongs ahead of anything else at the time of their release, and STill have the ability to make one's heart flutter! Well done.
Hope you're enjoying your time on the forum. Thanks for the intro.
Cheers, Diesel
-
Diesel ,mate my gpz900r would be one of the most expensive in oz ,the original (brought in 86)cost me $7500,this one owes me over $13000,every thing is new or overhauled.I feel it would do it's top speed of 245kmph ,maybe a bit more as it's first oversize.regards Noel
