Who am I? 8) Les Holzheimer from Hervey Bay QLD or known as Holzie or Mr H 8) Have had a few bikes over the years from dirt bikes through to a VTX1800 cruiser , 94 ST1100 to now a 05 ST1300 with 23000k on the clock. I sold the ST1100 3 years ago and have spent the last 4 months looking for either a 1100 or 1300 and found one of each that I spent hours and hours researching the 1300 forums and become even more confused with some of the negativity of the 1300 reports after having the 1100 and been familiar with them. However after deciding to buy the blue ST1300 second hand from Rockhampton and a tilt train trip up to do the long way home I can only say :thumbs I have no regrets :thumbs. This is nothing other than a dream to ride and look forward to a few good road trips and meeting up with a few of the OZSTOC peeps. Cheers for now. :blu13left

Howdy Holzie! Sad to see you have to put up with the weather at Hervey Bay. Was up there for a week recently, and hope to get back again, perhaps on the ride to Biloela.

I did the extensive research thing and reached a similar conclusion. But I started with an ST11 and later got the 13- on my second one.
They leave room for improvement, so your spending days are not over by a long shot. You'll definitely need a cruise control and from there it's all farkling fun.
Welcome to the best bike Forum in Oz. Nah. The world!

Welcome Holzie. Good to see someone in my neck of the woods. Often go for a ride to the bay for Coffee at Enzo's or Aquavue, as well as the Kondari of a Saturday night!
