You might find it a bit hot in Brisbane after a 6am start, but the locals will think that it is cold  :popcorn

I think those Far North Queenslanders (on the coast at least) like to remind us of how 'cold' its gets up there. Go anywhere inland Australia and it is about the same as down here..a bit cool..

When I first came to Perth from Melb I wore shorts for the first three years never used the heater, even went swimming in the pool one day in July (which had the neighbours looking over the fence)
Got acclimatised since tho

I believe from a mate who was based in Townsville years ago (airforce) that the main relief from the heat was up on a mountain somewhere to get some breeze.  It takes some time to get used to the heat plus humidity..hit me like a brick first time in Brisbane when it was 30c but humid as well.

We didn't get to many nights below 20C this time of the year while we we living At Karratha, WA which is about the same latitude as MacKay in QLD.

For all but a few days we would still have the air con going during the day.
