Post by: scarp on June 23, 2013, 12:09:32 PM
Gus has once again organised the Quinninup overnighter it is posted on the FarRiders site but is not a FarRide as such so you can make your own way there no check etc.

http://farriders.com/forum15/index.php?topic=5800.new#new (http://farriders.com/forum15/index.php?topic=5800.new#new)

There are limited cabins there but a really nice Caravan Park with a Tavern nearby lots of camping space

How many people going to this event.

This is the 2nd weekend I have been able to go for a run since joining the forum and would be keen to attend. Last one was breakfast in York enduring strong winds and rain but I had a good time.

Tank is full and swag is on the back.

I live in Canning Vale and wouldn't mind travelling with other riders on the way. (not too early though)

Regards

Unfortunately not me - I've become a FIFO for the week and need to go up to Karratha. Enjoy the ride.

Thanks Ted, been looking forward to it for some time.

Don't work too hard up there. Watch out for the cyclone Ha Ha, expect it will be a bit humid up there.

I will be leaving about 9.00 and be at Pinjarra Rd by around 10.00.

Is that too late?

On a white 1100.

Had a good ride to Quininup Stopped at Donnybrook for some great Coffee & Quiche (Trevor was to tell me later that it's egg pie coz real men dont eat quiche)
Set up camp (well Chalet)
(http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i379/scarp57/100_3818_zps74e40b6b.jpg) (http://s1090.photobucket.com/user/scarp57/media/100_3818_zps74e40b6b.jpg.html)
Then went for a ride to check out the lake

Came back sat down with a beer then watched 2 likely lads trying to erect a tent
(http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i379/scarp57/100_3822_zps7a68ec19.jpg) (http://s1090.photobucket.com/user/scarp57/media/100_3822_zps7a68ec19.jpg.html)
Went up & said G'day to Hoffy & Bloodbikes
(http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i379/scarp57/100_3824_zps07aede38.jpg) (http://s1090.photobucket.com/user/scarp57/media/100_3824_zps07aede38.jpg.html)
There we quite a few FarRiders there some of their "Tents" were spacious  to say the least
(http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i379/scarp57/100_3825_zpse5eb1fce.jpg) (http://s1090.photobucket.com/user/scarp57/media/100_3825_zpse5eb1fce.jpg.html)
Later we ventured to the Pub this is where my photographing was put aside while drinking took over leave it to say that I had a great time.
Had a good ride back with Malcolm even tho we had to stop at every servo coz"I'm only putting $10 in coz there will be a cheaper one up the road"
Can't wait till the next one, thanks to all that attended

Really sorry about that. Trouble with white ST speedo's, they are too accurate. On any other vehicle you would be reading 100 but only doing about 96.

But I diid have a good time all round. Company was great, conversation in the pub may have been interesting if only I could hear (age related deafness in noisy conditions, can see the mouth moving but not understanding every word.)

Rain overnight didn't happen and riding through the trees (on the road) in cool weather is something I really love.

Interesting ride between Ballingup and Nannup. Got overtaken by a green blur, no plates, doing in excess of 120km on wet, twisting road and on the wrong side into blind corners.  We could only manage about 40-60k as we came to corners and some of those were too fast for the conditions.

Just checked the mirror and saw Pete was about 100metres behind me and nothing else in view. Focused on the road ahead and vrooom, this green thing went past me on the right side as we were turning into a tight left corner.

Every bone and muscle in my body went solid for a second (hasn't done that for years now).

Never saw the bike or rider again, possibly a Km into thich bush somewhere.

Well,I'm Looking forward to the next event. I have to take a camera next time.

Regards.

Great photos, looks like a beauty of a trip.  I can't wait to get away on reasonably run like this sometime.
