Title: Motorcycle Cruise Control
Post by: A2Z on July 01, 2013, 05:33:53 PM
I just bought a BrakeAway MCC (throttle lock type) with instant front brake release. I got the thing installed but I'm having a heck of a time with the calibration. Everything works fine until I start tightening the screws and bolts. The throttle doesn't spring back once I do that. Has anyone had any experience with this? Trying to get it installed before the trip to Ebor.  Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Allen :H

I got it on Amazon, for $189.  I'll let you know how it goes.

Yes, I came across it on the Internet, researched it and watched the YouTube clip. I too was impressed and decided to take a punt on it. Now...if I can just get it to work.  o:)

I bought one of these and fitted it to my V-Star custom I had a few years ago, they are brilliant.

Mine mounted up without to much hassle at all, persevere with it they are great value and the breakaway feature is a godsend to have as piece of mind when you have to stop quick smart.

I will purchase one of these for my STeed when the funds allow but I have a throttle lock currently  that still works.

HALLELUJAH!!!   I DID IT!!!

All it needed was my 3 P's. A little bit of Persistence, some Patience, and a LOT of Profanity.

Oh yeah...and a couple of 'make do' washers. C'mon EBOR!!

I'm surprised you remembered your 3 P's after all this time......did you "Summon Assistance" and remember your 4 point technique and then use your tools ???

I try to forget as much of those things as I can, Chris. LOL! They used to keep me up at night.

Here's to retirement!!!   :beer

And here's to my former employers!   :butt

For those interested in the Brakeaway MCC, here is a YouTube clip on how it looks and works on an ST.

If it doesn't work out, watch this space as I'm in contact with Kaoko in South Africa about producing their throttle lock for the ST1100, they have measurements and details, just waiting on an email to say its ready.
