Hi Dale I noticed your post here: http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=4574.0 (http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=4574.0)
But didn't want to Hijack it.
So here goes.
I'm currently running a Starcom headset (from you ages ago, I thinkk :D) which is bluetoothed to my iPhone.
I also have a TomTom GPS not connected to anything, it's just visual.
I would also like to connect the pillion to everything and everything to everything.
Is that doable?
Everytime STreak calls me, he is on his bike and his voice is crystal clear with no road noise...
Currently nothing is wired and I don't care if it needs to be...
Just looking for options and of course price

Cheapest way would be the StarCom1 Advance KITB ($340) - 2 headsets and iPod lead
add BTM-02 (Bluetooth module) $140 for the iPhone (does the auto answer for you too :thumb)
depending on the Tom Tom model it amy or may not come into the equation
So about $500 gets all the voices to both heads and you can add UHF later (plug in) if you want too.
ALL bike powered no charging (except the iPhone) single curly cord to each hat.
Alternative Wireless is the BikeComm BK-02 at $900, nothig more needed it has ALL the bells and whisltles included in the pack
2 x headsets, 2 x bluetooth connections, PTT and UHF cables, connections for iPod/GPS/etc too.
give us a ring if you need :grin

So...
I have this finally wired up... you said there was an order to pairing these up? (iPhone, tomtom rider, ipod)
-
iPod via 3.5mm double ended cable to "AUDIO" socket on StarCom1
iPhone paired to TT Rider "Phone" BT connection
BLUE connector into BTM-02, BLACK end into StarCom1 "PHONE" port".
Ignition switched power to red power lead of BTM-02
TT rider "HEADSET" BT connection to StarCom1 BTM-02 (push pairing button between power and connection lead :wink1)
ALL = LOADS of voices in your head :thumbsup

You're a campion... There could be a very real chance of me giving you a call on the weekend...
BTW I don't suppose there is an optimum volume setting, which would be a good starting point
-
"You're a campion." :rofl I'd rather be a champion :beer
The StarCom1 was sent out out with my "average" set up, most people say its pretty bloody close :thumb.
use it as a start then "tweak" a little as needed :grin
-
Brilliant.

Hey Dale, I just spent a good few hours riding with the new system....
Out flipping standing, thank you.
Mind you after my tinkering during the week, I suited up, got the bike out of its STable, and boom... dead battery. After 1/2 hour on the charger we're back in business...
The system didn't miss a beat.
Only problem was it was really windy and that seemed to think it was me talking and kept cancelling out the iPod.
The volume for everything else was spot on.
So my question is. Can I set the iPod to NOT cancel out?? That way if the wife wants to talk to me she can simply hit the pause button.
Also when I'm out on my own I guessing that's what the other lead is for (blue yellow black one) I can plug that in and use the music from my iPhone (which is bluetoothed into my tomtom).
This is what my dials are set to at the moment

Just "tweak' the VOX (second from left) a little further ANTI clockwise to make the music mute at louder volume talking.
OR all the way Anticlockwise and the music will only mute on phone calls / GPS instructions and UHF recieve.
You cant play music BT from the iFail (sorry iPhone) via the GPS then to the system, the GPS cant pass it along.
On solo rides plug the MP3 lead into the phone and tell the phone to play music from the phone (not via BT) it will ask for the option :thumb
-
Oh cool, Thanks, I thought all those were just volume controls...

that worked a treat, took the bike out again today and adjusted the iPod VOX thingy. We can talk to each other even over the music. Works wonders, So glad...money well spent.
BTW I can't find the wife mute button. She discovered she can know sing along to the music at the top of her lungs.
