Title: Have you made a warranty claim on your ST1300?
Post by: TouriSTs on July 19, 2013, 04:20:26 PM
Alan (Alans1100) alerted me to the fact that I may invalidate the warranty on my new ST1300 by fitting Delkevic slip-ons.  It got me thinking - from what I have read here, the ST1300 seems like a reliable bike, but have you ever had to have anything repaired/replaced under warranty on your ST1300?

There was a recall of the ST13s for a rear brake reservoir hose that was done.  Not warranty, but free and most of them were fine, but Honda was being responsibly careful.

OK.  So it sounds like there have been hardly any warranty claims.  Good to know :thumbs

Bought mine new in 2009 and now have 83k on the clock.   I've had no warranty repairs, but as Biggles mentioned, I also had the rear brake line replaced free of charge under a recall.   It is interesting to note that while Honda Australia had my details, I was not contacted regarding the recall.   Honda World (now MotoAdeaide) service my bike and have always given me great service and advice.

From memory, some issues did crop up in overseas forums, such as coolant leaks from loose hose claps or a failed  waterpump, some thermostats failing early (the theory was the coolant from the factory had problem or there was contamination from production)  So really, relatively trouble free  even compared to cars, as problems are always highlighted and seem worse as owners with no problems don't report anything.
