The second photo has a great depth of colour.  Really makes for a beautiful sky/ road shot.
Next time close in on the bikes to put them in the left third of the pic and lift the sightline to put the horizon a bit lower in the pic.  A bit like the first one.

Glad you like gravel.  Looks like you had plenty of it!

Biggles i don't mind gravel just not too keen on it on my gpz having spent a lot of money restoring it,far better job for the varadero.photo's were just a quick happy snap.given time to look through the shot i could have improved the shot.

Yes- good point.  I'd forgotten about stone chips.
Regarding pic critique- no sweat about happy snaps.  Just the observation that a great pic like that wouldn't take much to be even better.  There's tons of free editing apps and programs around these days.  Keep up the great illustrated report writing.  We city slickers don't see country like that much (thank goodness!)
