Without researching it, I understand the torque is at its maximum from the very start. I also deduce there would be no need for a gearbox.
Having lost all my hearing above about 12kHz, I hear no whine above what looks like about 80 kph. It would certainly feel like flying, for more reasons than just the silence!
The fact he ate the red racer and the course appearance makes me think it's making typical TT speeds. 300 kph?

I'd like to know how many laps of the IOM he can do at that speed on one charge... Maybe only one?
I kinda like the sound though. Forget George Jetson's scooter, it sounds like Star Trek's Enterprise with Staintunes!

From watching the Isle TT episodes I think they are only good for 70kms at those speeds

But honestly guys, at that sort of speed the thing would get back to the start about 30 seconds before it left!!!! Obviously, the speed is not the problem, the power supply is the problem, so once they fix that then this thing is going to rule to WORLD!! Forget having to keep putting petrol in the bike...it doesn't need it; forget trying to make sure you are in the right gear at every corner...there is only one gear; forget trying to ensure that you have the engine producing the right power output to the wheels when you need it...the bike puts out the same driving power at all times regardless!!!!! Is this thing scary or WHAT???

Electric cars have been with us for over a century. The first world land speed record was set by Camille Jenatzy in 1899 at 65mph in an electric car. Took five years before Henry Ford beat that with 91mph in 1904 powered by petrol. In 1920's New York electric cars were so popular that they installed coin operated parking meter type chargers on the streets. :eek
The big advances in batteries over the standard lead acid type have now days made taking your electric powered vehicle further than the corner shop a reality. With more development in batteries and solar chargers we may one day be able to replace petrol, but not just yet. :wink1
