Hi Chaps,
I know you need little hands to replace headlight globes BUT is there any easy way to replace the clearance light in the headlight without pulling off heaps of plastic????????

Will be watching this as I wish to replace mine at some stage.....can do the headlight bulbs very easily, but these little buggars are a different story...... :think1

:think1 I replaced one of mine about a year ago, I think I had to remove the inner plastic lining in between the tank and glove boxes. Still a fiddly job, be careful when removing the rubber seal :-[ as when I removed mine :'( the globe fell out into the Headlight enclosure. >:() Try as I might :eek I could not fish the thing out :cuss, so there it still is coz I'm to lazy to remove the headlight assembly :fp.

not that I can think of. I changed mine when i changed the main bulbs to HID, even then I did the same as Paul :||||

When you change the globes on your bike you could get the coloured Led ones to match your bike.
It'd be easy if we had a red or blue bike but where do we get an Led globe that's a shade of black?

Check your States rules, as in Queensland that would be an automatic defect. Only white or yellow lights can show to the front. No need to add to the Govt retirement fund unecessarily.

Yes I know that legally you can only display white or amber lights at the front and another is that you can't have a flashing red light (brake light) so be sure not to pump the brakes to get the following drivers attention.
If you had a flashing brake light (led strip) but only the glow was visible and not the light then you'd stand a fair chance of getting away with it at court.
You can get led controllers that will flash an led strip a pre-determined number of times and then the light is on constant. They also have an option to not flash so then you could stop the flashing just prior to that closer inspection for rego or compliance.
I still think that if I could get led globes to match the colour of my bike I'd get away with it.

Yep the blown bulbs usually go black and they are probably cheaper to buy that way too :thumb :grin :crackup :rofl

Finally got around to replacing these......and yes dropped an old bulb from the rubber holder into the headlight :|||| but removed by wrapping some insulation tape (sticky side out) around a piece of wire.
Had Tupperware off for another job, so access was easy......replaced with whiter (blue) T10 globes

Replaced mine a while ago with white ( and very bright ) LED's, really tight fit into the holder, so hopefully they won't fall out!! ++

I've put high intensity flashing brake lights on mine and the missus'bikes in addition to the standard brakes. The normal brake lights are constant but the auxilliary ones flash 5 times then constant on.
