Title: Unreliable ST1100s
Post by: saaz on August 29, 2013, 12:07:20 PM
Thane has a 1998 ST1100.  as he said the alternator "...finally gave up after 530,000 kms of abuse."  I expect a lot better really!  Diesel should feel cheated by Honda...Thane has replaced a few timing belts and the water pum, as well as other things along the way.

He comes from Canada, and is on st-riders, don't know if he is on st-owners.

Who is Thane, the owner of this long lived and long legged machine?

After 530k there must be some sentimental attachment to that ride.
I'd be getting out the paddles and yelling clear!

And when she's finally done her time I'd retire her by completely stripping her down and giving her the full treatment before putting her back together in better than new condition and storing in the house as a show piece with stories a plenty :)
