I am 75 and a slow rider on the twisty turns but I love it and if you all can put up with me I would love to come. Thinking I could stop over at the TOP PUB AT URALLA and go home to Port Macquarie the next day via Armadale and Dorrigo.
PS. I have a mate, Bob Brewer who also rides an ST1300. I will see if I can talk him into riding with us.
-
That would be fantastic Richard, we will come home via Uralla so happy to travel with you, even point out some sights and some must see spots and roads on your return journey via Dorrigo :thumbsup
And naturally Bob would be most welcome :thumbsup

Hi there,
Please count me in too.
BTW Can someone comment on whether the road from Gloucester to Nabiac is a good M/C road.
Allan
-
I can its rubbish.all tar the way ,but lots and lots of pot holes mostly filled though ,take it easy and you'll be fine, make sure you check out the bike museum there in Nabiac.
-
The worst piece of road in the country is between the bucketts way and Wingham ,it is one big pot hole.

I think we will have to postpone our trip to the Snowy. Bob is still up in Brisbane. Also the weather doesn't look so promising, 4 degrees at night, in a tent, is too cold for thees old bones.
I will keep you posted if there are any changed.

Sorry but I am going to gave to withdraw from the ride as I need to attend a federal budget meeting that very morning. Much rather be in Gloucester with you guys.
On another note I may have to withdraw from this forum as I have recently traded in my much loved ST 1300A on a Harley Switchback . I know I know but sometimes you just have to try something different.
I would still like to catch up with you if at all possible.
Many Thanks

I'm happy to ride with nice people on Harleys, just not them wankers.
:bl11

No need to withdraw from OzSTOC Mothership, we do talk to harley riders, and you will return to the ST....
-
No need to leave if the forum and people suit you. I have a Triumph Trophy as well as the ST1100, and I ain't leaving. A federal budget meeting - I had to do them pretty well all my working life in Federal Treasury. Can't say I miss the lead up to this time of year, or post budget work :runyay

Must be the riders wanting to obey the speed limits or just wanting to listen to the lovely sounding Hardley exhaust? :runyay ST trying to keep up with a Hardly . . . Hmmm . . :candystwheelie
The cops down here tested Hardly's as a Police bike . . . they were not impressed with it as a pursuit bike . . . I loved the sound of mine tho . . . And for cruising it was OK . . . And I think they have improved the reliability . . . Still 400 klm from a 18 ltr tank is extremely good as most are pushing to get 300 ks from the Switchback . . . Nice bike for a cruiser tho . . ++

Hi All,
I have lectures until 11am in Newcastle :|||| I'll head up straight after that so I'll be half an hour late. The ST looks out of place in the Uni carpark but I'm sure it will cope. Look forward to meeting you all.
-
I could be running a bit late as I'll be coming up from the South coast. Looking forward to catching up with you all.
Allan
-
BMW Paul and Stephen (also on a BMW) will be leaving Canberra on Tuesday morning, riding via Taralga, Oberon, Rylstone to Denman for the night and doing the 200+ ks to Gloucester on the Wednesday morning to have lunch with you all.
After lunch we are heading along the Buckets Way to Wauhope for the night, Thursday we are forced into doing the Oxley to Walcha then back down thru Gloucester, Dungog, Singleton along the Putty Road to spend Thursday night in Windsor, home on the Friday.
Looking forward to the little ride for lunch.
-
Hi All,
I am sorry to say I won't be attending now. Due to an old injury whilst serving in the Army, it has now come back to bite me on the rear end. My back has had a collapse and I can barely walk because of a trapped nerve. Already had to ops on it, one in 2000 and one in 2003, now its time for spinal fusion. I will be out of action for several months and I am disappointed in not being able to attend my first ride with you guys. I just had the police brackets mounted which arrived from the UK, a new set of 4 inch 27 watt LED flood/spot light combo added. Also new tyres, brake pads and HID headlights. The best of all are the beautiful staintune exhausts that I purchased through this forum. Oh well the sted is back in it's stable, there to sit for a few months. When I'm back on my feet I will be like a man possessed and I will be attending as many rides I can, after some serious training. Once again sorry to all those attending, I was so looking forward to meeting you all at Gloucester.
Cheers
Dave (Gibbo)
-
Make sure you get better Dave, as backs can be tricky things to fix. Plenty more rides to go to :beer
-
That's no good at all Dave, looking forward to meeting you when your back on deck :-++look after your self in the meantime :grin
:beer
-
:hatwave Hi Guys..
I'm a Newbie and haven't been for a ride with you Guys yet but i am keen to go to Gloucester on Wednesday.
I've just come off "P"s.. so i will probably stick to speed limit as i'm still getting the feel of the bike!. My Brother lives at Wingham so I'll
head on up there after. Is there anyone going past the Toronto exit near Newcastle on the Freeway on Wednesday, i could follow you up to
Gloucester.
Cheers. Ron (Harro) ++
-
Thats great Ron, after you have been to your first RTE they become infectious.......
:beer
-
Hi Ron,
If you can make your way to, say, the first shell servo on the left after you cross the Hunter River at Hexham I can pick you up on the way past. I will be going past there about 11.15am and am happy to stick to the speed limit. We will be a little late though.
Let me know if you want to do that and I will keep an eye out for you. If you do I will PM you my mobile number in case you change your mind later.
-
Hi Craig (Wombattle)
Thanks for your reply! That would be great. 11.15 at first Shell after Hexham...no worries
looking forward to it!
Regards. Ron
-
Sadly, myself and friend won't be able to make it to Gloucester this time. Look forward to catching up with you all soon.
Grumpy :'( :'(
-
Ride safe and see you at Roadies.... :thumbsup
We are heading off in the morning, after the tiresome Waterfall Way :whistle it will be lunch and a swim at Scott's Head, and a mandatory coffee at the Casualty Coffee shop in Port Macquarie......then in for the night at Harrington and the Irish Pub with Guinness on tap :hatwave
Next morning Pockey doing a beach run while I feed the seagulls and scull berocca, followed by the bike museum at Nabiac and then off to hassle you mob for lunch.......not much riding but not at home sorting teenagers crap or at work either :runyay
:beer mmmm Guinness !!
-
We home all safe and sound at 5:45, just in time to go to work at 6pm :||||
Will post pics so....
:beer
-
Now that was fun! Great meeting you all, food at Roadies was very nice, company better!
-
Good to catch up with you all at the Roadies Cafe, Tipto, Paul and I are holed up in the Long Flat Hotel for the night and we'll do the remainder of the Oxley to Walca tomorrow. Then it's back down to Gloucester, Dungog, Singleton, Putty Road to Windsor for the night, Friday will see us back in Canberra.
Thanks for organising, much appreciated. :like
-
:hatwave. It was great to meet you guys at Roadies yesterday, looking forward to another ride.
Thanks to everyone for the advice on the backfiring, I tried the Metho, tipped some in the tank took a swig
and never heard it backfire once on the way to Wingham. So it seems their may have been water in the fuel.
Regards. Ron (Harro) :like

Sometimes you start with the simple things. Do check your valve clearances to be sure.

I heard Methohw can make you blind but I didn't know it affected hearing as well. Great to catch up and meet all you guys at Gloucester.
I got home safe and sound but a bit cold at 4:45pm.

Young Georgia that you guys meet at Gloucester hit a roo between Gingers Crk and Walcha on the way home after dark.......stayed on the bike just but naturally rattled and stayed below 60 for the rest of the ride to the New England Hwy.
