Late 90s I think. I still have the bike

And just to add to the mix - dad with his then new to him Panther 650 Sloper (it would be late 1930s/very early 40s). He later put a outfit on it, as I course when you get married that is what you should do :thumb He had a 350 BSA sloper before that.

Not to be outdone by Saaz, here is my Dad about 1940 on his BSA 650 Single. It too expanded to a family outfit as us kids came along. Seems like felt hats were the helmets of the day. I'm not sure how they managed to keep them on.

Well the thread was about "posing" with your bike rather than "standing around or sitting on it" so i thought i would drop this one in from this weekend in Kalbarri... :rofl :rofl
(eyes up from the girl in the red bikini behind) ... :spank

Yep! Almost a terminal case of helmet head.

Seems like felt hats were the helmets of the day. I'm not sure how they managed to keep them on.
Felt hats were the uniform of the day. Men were regarded as naked without them!
I guess with the strong flat brim, the rider just tipped his head down a little and the hat was pushed firmly onto the head.
Apart from that, they possibly didn't ride quite as fast as some riders these days.
-
Dad did have a riding 'helmet', consisting of a leather cap that covered the ears and strapped under the chin (think of the early aviator gear). The cap had rabbit fur lining, and holes so you could hear, of course. The cap was at home for years, wish I had put it away somewhere.

SAAZ
you must start wearing your helmet and ride slower as you had more hair in the 90s :rofl :crackup :rofl

Wearing a helmet wore my hair out I reckon :think1 and worrying about you lot does not help :grin

Marcus, what did you use to do that? Sure makes a difference Dad used to develop his own photos for many years, B&W of course.
-
If we're showing family bike photos, the first is my father-in-law on his bike, on the bridge at Clarendon in the Adelaide Hills. The second is one of my daughter's wedding photos, requested by her and as a tribute to her grandfather, taken on the same bridge.

Here's my contribution
This is around 1980 and my first Bike a 1974 Honda Elsinore MT 250 which was a 2 stroke with 2 spark plugs, one on top of the cylinder and one to the side for hot and cold plugs. The 2 mates I'm with and I are still in contact.

This is around 1989 with my 2 eldest sons Jeffery and Matthew, the youngest son Nathan was only a little new born at the time. He was Married last weekend. The bike is a 1981 Honda XL500s. I wish I had this bike today, I just loved it.

This is a photo of my Dad on his Ariel. As I was growing up we were always told it was an Ariel Four Square, but clearly it isn't, it looks like a Red Hunter from I'd say some time in the 1940's. The photo is pre Mum and Dads wedding so around 1950/51.

Katana 750
GSXR750
-
Hmmm, The Katana looks more like the 650, (GS650G shaft drive)
I had one as well. a great bike.
-
hi Brock, not a shaft drive and it was a Katana.
engine underpowered, heavy but smooth ride
-
Not the shaft, then it was 750. The 650 had a ton of power, ( was actualy 685cc ). Had mine up to 195 once if I remember correctly.

Interesting as I can't remember seeing a chain drive Katana styled like the 650 shaft one - must have been small numbers of them. The first 750 styled like the 1100 was the first, and I remember the pop up headlight 750 Katana.

This seems to be the 750 I remember,
(http://www.suzukicycles.org/photos/suzuki-history/1984/1984_GSX750S_Katana_520.jpg)
This was the 650 (the one I had.

The 750 shown way above seems to be a mix of the 650 styling with the 750. That rear cog looks huge. Perhaps it was a model not released in Oz (looking at the coast line)

Here i am with my 1980 XV1000 i bought off Ebay for $1,600, flew to brisbane and rode it back to Winton, in the middle of summer.....not my smartest effort, but i made it, including being push started across the caltex carpark by the manager of the caltex in Roma... This was taken at a lookout just off the South Gippsland Highway above Foster (VIC), on the weekend of the 2011 Groggy Wombat Rally. It rained just about all weekend, hence now known as the Soggy Wombat Rally, well for us anyway.......

The URL works in a browser. How does one show the photo in this Forum topic?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You had already done the hard part.
The next thing to do is click on the far right panel on the Photobucket page next to the letters IMG
It will then say "copied". It's now in your clipboard.
Go to the posting you're writing, put the cursor where you want it and type "CTRL-V" ('insert' in MSnot) - or right click/paste, and walla. It's there, done & dusted!

That must be the third time I've seen that row of Housing Commission houses.

In your case, Totgas, using ImageShack, you need to click on the Picture Icon under the "B" in the buttons above the edit box. Then in ImageShack, copy the URL in the panel on the right that says "DIRECT". Paste that between the two "img" blocks that the button gave you and you get the full size piccie in all its magnificence.
Trusting Border Collie! Terrifying looking contraption. :eek
