I have been stalking this site for the past 12 months whilst trying to decide whether an 1100 or 1300 was what I was really after. Yes I had contemplated a beemer and had strong influence to get on a strom. I finally made the decision that although my heart was set on an ST1100 that some 1300's had priced well enough to have a go at them. I located a couple of steeds that were in my budgetary limitations and started the ball rolling. The problem (hee hee) was that the St1300 I settled on was located in Brisbane QLD and I am located south of Perth W.A. Careful planning and negotiating saw me making plans to fly to Bris-vegas and ride the bike home. I was now faced with an interesting situation that basically meant I was getting my dream cycle and participating in my first long distance, short duration ride. I must say that the info provided on this site re: long distance riding was very helpful and I even took notice of the sentiment of safety and long rides. Long story short, 3 1/2 days later ride into garage (surprise the living daylights out of wife) and sit but in bath. Awesome experience, the ST never missed a beat and by far the most economical bike I have ever ridden. Looking forward to eating more miles soon.

What a man! Took the ST13 at face value (long distance capable, reliable, economical, comfortable) and asked it to do all that on your first ride of it.
You're very welcome here with that mindset! :thumbs

Yeah, welcome back to WA from a northern suburbs boy. Especially with the new toy, must have been a great run.
I travel to Bunbury quite frequently as part of my job and love the area.
Me and the wife will no doubt be cruising through in the next few weeks for a day run to busso.
Enjoy the forum, I recently joined myself and enjoying it so far.
Regards,
Panman.
