So.
Hypothetically speaking...
Lets say a "friend" got a speeding ticking ticket this morning in the mail.
And "he" thought he was already close to the limit in points so "he" just rang vicroads for a points check.
Computer says 0 point against this Licence
But then it went onto say I... "He" can accrue upto 12 points
Does then mean "he" has used up all "his" points and "he" will be walking or does that mean "he" has all "his" 12 points available to use?
Or Should he nominate "his" wife to take the fall?
-
I would read that as you, sorry I mean your "friend" has 12 points left on your oops "his" licence :wink1 :grin

Marcus, Most states play the same way in that "he" gets 12 points and when he looses any it takes three years to get those points back. I would be asking for a copy of their traffic history and you can then check to see what the time frames are. VicRoads may charge a small fee or you may be able to drop in to the local police station and ask nicely if they would do it or maybe show you that record. It's probably the only way to be sure. They could be saying that you have all 12 points or they could be terming it that you have used all twelve up. Or your friend in this case. Hope this helps. Don't make this sort of inquiry over the phone, it is too unreliable.

If "she/he" can't recall a fine paid in the past 3 years, "he/she" will therefore have less than 12 points against your licence.
So there's no need for your friend to perjure themselves with a Stat Dec that the hooning wife was the real culprit.
It sounds like your friend can go out and tear up Victoria a bit more yet before losing aforesaid licence.

Points have an expiry date. Usually there are rules about if points are quickly accumulated within set times and automatic suspension applying according to level of points and time.
Your 'friend' needs to write some things down to keep track!

I... He just got back from Vic Roads...
It's good 0 is a good thing.
So you accrue points it seems, you start with 0 and 12 is your limit
so now after this fine mt friend will be on 3.
Apparently he said my friend had a whole bunch that recently cleared after the 3 year thing... he could have sworn he was sitting one more fine away from walking...
So happy days...
I'll pass all your tips onto "My friend" :fp

You were obviously very bad just over 3 years ago.

Hey Marcus if you like we can double check with VicRoads and get back to the forum if you like. Just trying to be helpful!!!!

So it was in your tintop, and not the bike. I'm the same- I've accumulated more performance awards in the car than on the bike.
-
No that was an old one which I called BS on and paid good money to get those photos...that was a sad day.
But thankfully I'm more cautious since getting the bike because I don't want to stop riding it... I mean he doesn't want to stop :p
