Title: The Great Alpine Road
Post by: Marcus on October 14, 2013, 12:08:40 PM
Found this on the google machine.
Having never ridden this road...
This makes me want to do it, does anyone know which direction this was heading?

This is a few kilometres short of Mount Hotham on the road heading up from Harrietville.   AWSOME ride. :-++  I've ridden this road three times.

The opposite direction to this:

(I wish I could take photos like the one you posted.)

I reckon it would have been taken from Point A looking towards Point B on this link:

You're welcome. :clap

I was waiting for you blokes to put a bit more effort and  :think1 into it.  If you had looked at the length of the shadows, relative to the time of day, the moss on the trees (south side and all that, ya know), you could have worked it out.

Well, it would have been easier than working out Sean's cryptic photo puzzle clues ..........

You've got me interested, and looking at where I'll be in November, it's not too big a loop to go down to Bairnsdale to pick it up.

Here's my photo, taken of the same valley, but looking in the opposite direction and towards where the bike is in Marcus's photo.  We were riding from Hotham towards Harrietville.

At the risk of stating the bleeding obvious, the poles are for when the road is covered in snow.
