I just needed to adjust Missus Biggles' mobile phone plan and was dreading talking to Mumblebai. Then I noticed the option to "Chat 24/7". I thought- "Here's a go, gotta be worth a try." My alter-ego agreed and so we clicked it.
Gerald responded immediately and we got on like a plane on fire. No unintelligible incantations for my stuffed hearing to decipher. Just plain Ariel typeface.
Got the issue sorted in 5 minutes! Try it. You'll like it.

Yup I'm on IRC chats a lot... I've noticed a lot of business have this now as part of their customer service... it's fantastic.
I use IRC chat almost every day... very old school but it looks like it's on it's way back

I used to be on Chat groups- had some fun there with some people some nights.
I guess it will just keep getting more popular as the next generation realise its benefits.
For a business it's a great technique- saves spelling stuff out over the phone, for example. Ironically as I type I'm dealing with a repeat phonecall regarding an email address because it was misheard the first time. Eventually phonetic alphabet saved the day. Too many technologies!

Totally agree, since the op I have a little trouble thinking then talking quickly enough to keep a challenging conversation going, especially with someone who has English as their God-knows which language, but text is slower by force and therefore much easier for me to keep up with. And I actually don't care what language is primarily spoken with whoever is on the other end 'cause I can't hear them!! :CB--

I'm on a Telstra business plan, which anyone with an ABS can get. It's the best service I've ever had.
24/7 support to a 100% Australian customer support person.
$100 per month for phone and internet. I couldn't be happier with them.
