Got an email this morning as follows...
Police are investigating a serious traffic crash at Northgate this morning.
Initial information suggests around 7.15am the driver of a sedan was travelling in a southerly direction along Nudgee Road when he lost control and struck an oncoming vehicle.
Hmmm..... The 17 year old was driving... when he lost control... :think1
With all the talk lately about speed limits being set too low, it's hard to imagine losing control in a 60km/h speed zone when one is NOT:
- texting;
- speeding;
- spinning the drive wheels;
- on black ice;
- otherwise distracted.
Seems the other 19,000 cars got through that same stretch without losing control.
If it was an ST he hit instead of a car, the consequences are dire. At least the other driver was unharmed.
Anyway, suppositions and assumptions aside, fortunately the young chap is alive, but in hospital.
Watch out for cars driving down roads and then 'losing control' villains! :eek
Cheers, Diesel

Yep, the car got away from him. He "lost control".
You can easily see how it would happen. These modern cars are so unforgiving if you make the slightest error with them- straight into the oncoming traffic without a chance to regain control.
Most likely the Driving School is to blame. Didn't teach him how to retain control in these challenging driving conditions.

The illusive Roo that jumps out gets his fair share of the blame as well in my experience :fp

If it was a week day he'd be lucky if he was doing 60 on that road.

His car may have had the same type of tyres that the Russians use in those Russian car crash videos on youtube! >:()

The russians all fuel their cars with vodka, that's why they lose control.
