I have looked at different ways of making driving light brackets that bolt to the mirror mounts.
One idea that I have had is:
U-bolts! I have U-bolts in stainless steel and mild steel that are 55mm between ends. The distance between mounting bolt holes for the mirrors is 60mm, so some light bending would fix that. Now, if you weld a nut (oversized so that the mirror mounting bolt can pass through) to each end of the U-bolt then you have most of the bracket made. Of course you can used more nuts as spacers to clear the mirror mountings. Then it is just a matter of deciding on the bracket that you want to weld to the u-bolt depending on what you want to mount there (LED driving lights, Camera, etc)
Of course, this is a very simple/budget approach to making a mirror mount but when you think of it there's not much more work to cut tubing for the bolt-throughs (instead of welding a nut and then using spacers). That section would be hidden inside the mirror cover anyway. Once it is tidied up with careful grinding and painted gloss black (or your favourite colour) then it would probably blend in quite well.
Just an idea. Your thoughts?

Rodd, your plan seems ok. Perhaps knock up a prototype.
Be careful of the combined weight of the brackets and what they are supporting.
Under the front fairing there is a "yoke" that connects/supports both brackets. I managed to split the yoke. Fortunately, my brother-in-law came to my aid with patience and a welder.

I'm not sure how I will make mine as yet, or when.
I have just put this up for something for members to think and talk about! :phone
I would think that it would be better for lighter weight LED lights or camera mounts...

Just made a set myself and making different variations. I will post piccies soon. Simple two bits of flat bar welded to a piece of 16-17mm pipe however solid bar will bend easier and tighter. I bought a tube bender to do this. the critical part is the angle of the flat bar to clear the mirror surround and I had to notch for the mirror bracket itself. two small pieces of tube then space it out from the bolt holes. Brock showed a rudimentary one not long ago. The first one is a real pain the cut, adjust fit and recut adjust etc etc. Cost wise about the same as buying about five or six sets from Honda but you cant put a price on relaxation can you :fp

I have a set of both Dick Seng and police brackets that will do the job very nicely under and over the mirrors
They are surplus to my needs and happy to part with them for a reasonable offer
Pm if interested

Sorry for the delay Pezzz but my computer is playing up if you know a good techy ...... :crackup :rofl
4 inch 55 watt out of melbourne I think. Sunyee corp and $91 or 96 delivered. Cheap and cheerful not unlike myself :whistle
They are the euro beam so not as far but a good side spread. :grin

Pezz & Wombat I have found that the black ones like you have Wombat don't shine as far down the road, but if you get the same lights with the red ring around them they seem to penetrate the darkness a LOT further and still show up the tabledrains. I have the 4" 55W red ring on mine ATM and can see about a km down the road almost.

They are also advertised as Euro Beams,

The distance issue is not a problem with wildlife as most come from the sidesand I have enough time to slow. I havent used these much but still more than ample for what I want and the oncoming traffic becomes a pain if you have to dip early. I did look at the more powerful 100watt lights but the issues mentioned outweighed the benefits. If I upgrade these they can go on one of my other vehicles.
