This home was 20 k's west of town and this storm came through about 4pm, elderly lady who lives alone fortunately uninjured. We were out working in the bush a few kilometres from here and took considerable time to access and egress the area with trees down, hail to the depth of the hubs on the Landcruiser and flooded causeways/roads/paddocks, the shattered splintered trees struck and strewn across the roadway was quiet amazing.

This Tornado went through about 20 k's North of town at Ben Lomond with no property damage, this a different Tornado to the one that did the above damage but from the same storm cell.

I took this Pic earlier in the day at about 1200 looking to the South of town, then ended up in it for work a couple of mins after the Pic was taken :well
Oddly since we have been here (20+) years.....we have had 3 homes destroyed by this style of storm, this latest home and the other 2 within 5 k's of town :crazy

That's the stuff of cyclones and "tornado alley" in the States.
Maybe you should be thinking about a "safe room" in Casa ST2UP.
Good that you are able to get out and help folk in your line of work.

It is good to hear that you both are all right. :thumbsup

We were quiet unaware how big this storm was here in town, was just another storm really. Chris has just got home from being on a job out the road where this house was destroyed and now that the road has been cleared of the trees you can even see where the bitumen road was damaged by it, was a strip about 200 metres wide without a tree or fence left standing.
Mother Nature can be a cranky girl, thank goodness she didn't come through a populated area :eek
