G'day Dale - great to have you aboard - and YES we know who you are so you have to behave yourself! :well :rofl
Seriously, they're all great folks here who, I'm sure, will have plenty of questions for you. We like to patronise our preferred suppliers, and your great reputation is widely known to our ST community - so enjoy your stay, and post like crazy!
Cheers, Diesel
PS - as you may have already seen, there are a few 'Dead Cat' fans and owners aboard too, so knock urself out.
-
Thanks Guys
Been riding the "Dead Cat" since 1986/7 and it still puts a smile on my dial :thumbs
the power and smopothness of the ST's (at highre revs :wink1) still astounds me sometimes though :hatwave

Welcome aboard Dale, im sure you will be flooded with qeustions from every body, nice ride by the way. :rd13 :CB--

Hi Dale. I have indeed heard lots of (good) things about you. One question I haven't got around to asking someone is whether Starcom and Autocom will continue on as separate lines in terms of support etc. Guess which one I have!
-
Welcome Dale,
I have heard all sorts about you, the words brilliant, only person to talk to, don't shop from anyone else, god, come to mind straight away!
glad to have you on board!
Cheers

:-[ :-[ Streak (but thanks)
Saaz as far as I'm told both will continue as seperate entities, but with some cross polination and sharing.
The guy i talk to in Tecstar, by phone regularly, tells me most technology enhancement will go from StarCom to Autocom :(
and he'd been flat out trying to keep up with 2 wharehouses/stock etc until recently.
Currently the BTM-02 and Wire3 are developed by Tecstar and shared to auto

Thanks Dale. My system does everything I need for now, but when the blutooth devices mature a bit they may be a viable option. I like keeping things until they either don't work or don't do what I want.

Welcome on In Dale :beer :popcorn

Hi Dale :) :hatwave

Welcome aboard Dale :hatwave

Hello there Dale and welcome.
We must talk to you again soon. Marissa needs a starcom unit and 2 way for her new bike. We found trying to use the one intercom unit for two bikes was a inconvenient, especially when a car would pass between us and get tangled in the wire running to Marissa's helmet :rofl
-
:thumbsup
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. its amazing how many of the faces I know :)
Barry, you nad Brian are gluttons for punishment :nahnah
-
Tell me something I don't know :)
At least Marissa's CB400 and Nat's Intruder will be easy to run wiring through, unlike the K1200LT and Wing. It's a half day tupperware party just to find the air filter on the LT. :eek

I thought you were that way inclined :rofl

Yes, some practices are hard to give up. Buying BMW's is one of them. :||||
-
I thought there were kits that used the BMW inbuilt comms (same as for the Wing)? The main upside Barry is that the LT is actually a nice bike to ride, as long as it does not fall over at low speed.
While on comms, are there any of the blutooth units that allow you to use your own earplugs, such as earmolds?

Theer are BUT the BMW onboard is not much chop

:think1 :think1Certainly :wink1 just cut off the speakers and add a 3.5mm socket :crackup (actually have done it for people

My latest LT didn't come with the BMW intercom system, John. I took the starcom unit off the ST1300 and fitted it to the BMW. I also have a UHF two way and ptt switch to plug into the starcom unit, but the original wiring for the ST1300 is not long enough to go the distance on the LT.
One of these days I'll get around to fitting it, and the Garmin 550 I brought for it when I first got the bike. It's still sitting in the box unopened. I haven't had the inclination to take all the tupperware off yet
-
I've taken the starcom1 system off the ST prior to trading the bike for the new schWING ...my thinking is to sell this complete to either an Ozstoc or Ulysses member as i've been told it cant be integrated with the Wings comms setup.......
-
Whomever told you that is INCORRECT :-(((
Actually you are better off using the StarCom1 and picking up the 'wings audio to listen to music (the wing intercom is cra9 )
the only bit that cant be done is the AM CB on the wing, all the rest comes in fine
-
Its a new wing w/out the 27meg but it does have the gps and am/fm radio plus I like the bigger connector plugs. The pillion in a million kept having trouble with the smaller ones. Speaking with Alan Pratt he is having issues with his enhancer/ wing comms/ car type cb...
-
Brian
The wings intercom is always on mics, NO noise cancelling and has permanent side tone. So you get to hear all your surrounds as well as what you say.
Your choice.
The StarCom1 itself can be used as the intercom ,UHF et al. and ther is a specific cable to plug into the wings system for all the onboard noises.
The StarCom1 GOLDWING ENHANCEMENT is a different kettle of fish, it just adds in the UHF, can do phone but NOT with a bluetooth module :'(.
Alan has not asked for help with his so I dont know if ther is a problem.

Hey Dale,
Thank you for the heads up .... Very much appreciated
