Title: Late Notice NSW ride - Wednesday 18/12/13 and Ride Report.

I mentioned it in my previous thread for the South Coast Ride held on 06/12/13 and haven't been able to commit to anything definite up until now. But the wife is away fro the day and I have decided to get a lst ride in before Christmas. I will be doing a ride on Wednesday 18/12/13 from Nowra up through Wollongong, through the Royal National Park, back down the Coast, up Macquarie Pass and home through the Kangaroo Valley. Anybody that is available or interested is welcome. Nominate here and suggest a convenient meeting point.

I would have been into that - sounds like a really good ride - but I've only just seen the message and I'm 1/2 way thru a trailer reno 2 sell and it's a hot 1 in the Gong 2day with green cicadas and a few blackies in full cry calling their mates. John, I have a good proposal for a ride in our general area in the new year, that JohnnyYTED and I r conjuring ("conjuring" - the making of magic) - will contact u about the route 4 your input after we come up with something that looks half-decent. It's been 4 or 5 years since I've ridden through the Royal National Park, I did it regularly when I lived in South Western Sydney but for some unknown reason it had dropped off the regular season rides that I tend to do. Today was a reminder of how pleasant the ride really is and I'll put it back on my list. The ride from Woonoona up the coast to the start of National Park also has some spectacular beach and ocean views, an absolutely breathtaking part of the world.
All in all a very pleasant day out on the bike, with the detour up Macquarie Pass and home through the Kangaroo Valley just adding to the days enjoyment. A nice uneventful pre christmas ride of about 350kms.

I thought about meeting up but had already done a snowy mountains loop on Tuesday.  Some New Years rides off the cuff should be quite doable.

Hi JWM,

They are great photos of a fantastic coastline and some of the best pubs and surfing in Australia. I might sound a bit biased only for the fact of the photos you took on top of Bald Hill at Stanwell Park is where I grew up. Where you parked your bikes and that mountain was a playing ground for us. Anyway enough of me.
Hope ya enjoyed the ride and the scenery, I know what you would have enjoyed, even from up here at Tweed Coast.
