INFORMATION

Melrose, at the foot of Mount Remarkable (955m) and named by Edward John Eyre in 1840, was named after Melrose in Scotland, dripping in history and a fantastic place to visit, this makes it the Perfect place for an RTE and a good look around!

Fellow ST riders sorry for not making the Ashbourne run but work, kids and the wife all to be kept  happy it just could not be.

HOW EVER The Melrose Run well……….. I would love to Go.
Recently did a run that way for work and would like to put a run sheet for this one.
From Kapunda to Burra the road is in great condition plus its interesting country and scenery. With heatwave gone and a good amount of rain the country was starting to pick up and in a few more months it will just look fantastic.
Meet Caltex Bolivar 8.30am travel up the expressway to the Kapunda turn of and go thru to Eudunda take the road out to Robertstown onto the Worlds end Hwy thru to the Burra Bakery for morning tea.    (It is all bitumen and in great condition)
Burra to Spalding on the B64 onto the B82 Main North Road to Gladstone and on up to Melrose for lunch.
Kathy and I will more than likely go thru to Pt Augusta via Horrocks pass stay overnight Comfort Inn West Side.
Sunday come down the main Hwy and home Via Crystal Brook Clare Valley etc.

I've made a tentative booking for ten, and advised the "North Star Hotel" that I'll keep them updated with the numbers.  Let's hope for some good weather. :thumb

The weather is starting to turn and this RTE is coming up in just a few days, so post if you wish to be added to the list.

I suggest that those riding up to Melrose from Adelaide meet at the Bolivar Caltex at 8.30am, to depart from there at 8.45am at the latest.  You will need to make your own way if you miss the departure time.  :thumb

I will be bringing some stock from the OzSTOC store, including caps, badges and stickers, mugs, rego plate surrounds etc etc, so come prepared as discounts apply to items purchased at a RTE.    I also have some of the new OzSTOC cards to give you.

Come along, meet some new friends and old, and enjoy a great ride though a beautiful part of SA.

The  :bl11 is all ready for tomorrow. Apart from a quick going over with some polish; the tyre pressures and fluids were all ok.

We'll meet you at the Hotel as we'll be going this way.
