Hi everyone, just thought I would say happy new year from over here. My wife and four daughters are doing it tough in a beautiful resort called the Lux at Grand Daube, Mauritius. A fantastic resort right on the ocean. We took a speed boat for the day out to a beautiful island with the most beautiful coloured water yesterday. Today we walked with a beautiful albino lioness and lion cub. Great...we were not eaten!!. Lots of motor bikes here but all of the very small variety. The police have Yamaha XJRs which I think are1300s. I am missing the ST which is safely locked up in the garage, awaiting my return. As I don't go back to work until Feb. hopefully there are some good rides ahead.......

Mauritius is a beautiful spot. Have you taken a taxi to the north of Mauritius yet?
The taxi's are cheap enough, if you barter a bit, for the whole day. Getting a local show you the island is a fantastic way of seeing non tourist stuff.
There are beautiful beaches in the north. The gardens are a nice walk. There are Polo outlet shows and Kashmir wool products.
Enjoy your holiday and don't forget to barter. We found it easier to convert to A$ for costing. Some are dearer, some cheaper that way.

The resort we are in is located on the very north east tip of the island. We have travelled by van to various places and the island is so pretty.makes one wonder what the early colonial days were like. Pictures? I have hundreds but having just got an iPad for my birthday and driven the kids mad with questions, I will leave pickies alone.

Oh Steve, why do you keep subjecting yourself to this sort of abuse. I know somebody has to do it but why do you keep putting up your hand and volunteering.
All good over here, life goes on. Janet and I met up with Tony at Kiama last Wednesday for lunch and a ride.
I know we are doing it tough over here but obviously not as tough as you are over there. You, Tina and the girls are always going out of your way to prop up the economies of these poor suffering nations. What can I say, keep up the good work.
Cheer Kingy, catch up with you when you get home.
