Hi all, not sure if i put last post in the right place, i have an issue with a st 1100, bought for a friend, he picked it up in Melbourne, the battery was flat, so when held up on the road for some time the bike got warm, and when tried to go you couldn't select any gears until it cooled down for half an hour, and the clutch seems to slip a little when warm, once going and at cruising speed it seemed okay, but lower than that the engine got warm. the bike had been sitting for 2 years, wondered if that has anything to do with it...any thought? appreciated ... Symptoms are of moisture in the clutch fluid, that expands when its hot, and therefore slightly disengages the clutch.

Thanks Brocky, probably right, the bike had been sitting for 2 years, maybe got condensation in clutch basket while sitting aswell? :think1

The clutch basket not so much, but an oil change will remove any nasties that have built up after 2 yrs of neglect. The ST is a bike that needs to be ridden, not left in the safety of the shed.
