:thumb Home safe and sound already. Bloody fatigue from work got me  :H and I was forced to make a radical change of plans. By the time I got to Kalgoorlie and Mrs Garmin sent me on a few wild goose chases to find the servo, I finally found one open and refueled at 02:25. Not enough time to do the 1000k left to get to Northcliffe for the checkin, so turn around and come home for an SS1600k instead.  :thumbs

Looks like my Spot Tracker might be playing up as well, it kept on losing the satelites, and it also came off the bike at about 100kph  :cuss after I had to avoid a truck. ( they bounce really well !! ) Luckily it stayed on the road where I could see it and no other traffic to run over it.

What a day...
Left home at 4:20 to meet a mate of mine Mick at the local servo. He got fuel, I got drink and we both had our start dockets.
Time to go  :runyay
We head past a couple of shady looking characters in a closed servo out on Brookton highway who did not respond to my radio call so Mick and I carried on.
Aim was to hit Brookton at 6 to meet up with Yorkie, Wombat, Turtle, and Gavo. Unfortunately, hitting Brookton came after hitting a bird about 50 or 60 kms out. Silly thing came right up from the side of the road and I thought it just hit my helmet.
Turns out (after wondering why it was so bloody noisy) that before it hit my helmet, it hit Yorkies screen that was on loan to me and took out half of that as well as my GPS on the shelf.  :well :well :well

Picture at Brookton

Not a good start. Anyhow, my first words to Yorkie when i saw him were "I owe you a new screen"
After that, all seemed to go pretty smooth apart from the fact that i could not hear anything but wind for the whole day.

Sunrise at Brookton

We left Brookton around 6:25 (I think) and after traveling down through Wagin, we stopped at Mt Barker for a refuel.

(Looking a bit lopsided on the front)
From there we toddled into Northcliffe around 12:30 for check in. Had a very large served lunch (after the poor bar girl got through taking a plethora of photos from everyone's cameras).

Panorama shot.

Said goodbye to Yorkie & Gavo (Mal, and Scarp had already left) and then back on the road around 2:30.
Fuel again for Wombat and I in Busselton, then onward and homewards.
Changed screen back to factory one at Wombat's work and then back here around 8pm.
1099km done for the day breaking in new helmet with no screen.
Over all, expensive but great day.

Edit for Spot Screenshot for the trip :)

What can I say but I am glad everybody are well and returned. :runyay Pity we missed you Ray but good decision not to push it too hard.  :rockon Good turnout and good food.   :EatCake Everytime I participate in a FarRide I see something different. Last time was Pezzz doing an Irish jig on his Stead after qualifying and at 110kph it was a sight and this time it was the quickest I have ever seen a Turtle move through the twisties out of Pemberton. He sure does like twisties  :clap See all on the next one. Maybe a SS1600 attempt

:thumbsup OK, Bike has been scrubbed and now looks like it is supposed to!  :hatwave

:fp   Also did some number crunching to work out what the 1300 might actually be capable of:

Morley - Eneabba                    275.3k      12.59ltrs    BP Ultimate      21.87k/ltr  ( includes traffic and roadworks getting out of Perth )
Eneabba - Midvale                  262.1        13.43         Caltex 98?       19.51
Midvale - Southern Cross        348.5        16.49         Caltex 98         21.13
Southern Cross - Kalgoorlie    237.9        11.69         BP Ultimate      20.35        ( includes GPS sending me everywhere to find the truckstop! )
Kalgoorlie - Southern Cross    238.5        10.58         BP Ultimate      22.54        ( includes starting to Norseman before figuring no way to make the FR checkin )
Southern Cross - Morley         366.2        16.51         BP Ultimate      22.18        ( includes traffic getting back into Perth )

Totals                                  1728.5         81.29                                 21.26        Theoretical range at 28ltrs useable = 595k!  :thumbs ( who's game enough to test this out!!! )

Sorry I was having a family day today with no computer or anything.
As Yorkie said i was borrowing one of his screens to see how I liked the height and already have my original screen back on.
Thanks for the offer anyway.
