Went to go for the weekly ride today on the trusty STeed, opened the shed turned the key neutral light lights up, oil light lights up, but no FI light or fuel pump noise. Off comes the seat, pannier and side cover and all fuses are ok, so off we go 2 up on SWMBO's 03 Z1000, just ain't the same. Came home checked the fuses again (all ok), used a test light on the fuse marked for the FI and there seems to be power flowing through. So I'm sure one of the relays by the fuses is for the fuel pump, any ideas which one or am I chasing the wrong thing?

Fuel, Iginition, Choke, KILL SWITCH .
ensure kill switch is in RUN position, symptoms above are indicative of KILLED :think1

check the electrical connection at the fuel pump - this happened to me recently - plug had partially fallen out.

Well sort of correct, switch was in correct position so sprayed the inside with Inox, flicked it a few times and BINGO all is well again. :|||| :|||| :||||

Sounds to me like we need to exercise this switch on a weekly basis, otherwise the contacts corrode and lose conductivity.

The ST1100 has been known to have corrosion problems in the kill switch. Once a year give it a squirt with something and use it, same as for the hi/lo switch.
