Hi Guys,
As I have not noticed any suggestion of a possible get together over the Easter Weekend, I am suggesting that we organize something, it would be a great chance for me and any new NSW members to meet up and get to know some of the people on these forums.
It doesn't have to be anything elaborate it can be a nice biking road close to the City with a nice cafe at the end of it for a stop off and a chat with new friends and then ride back... Is there anyone up for it?

Great idea mate ++ PM Abe if you want some ride/eating locations around Sydney.....a run down through the Royal National Park or a burst up the Bells line would be a hoot :hatwave
Abe seams to know where all the best Pie shops are located :whistle I lost my boyish figure last time we road together :nahnah
Post the Location and time........"Build it and they shall come"

Well I did enjoy my brief run through the Royal National Park a couple of weeks back and happy to go through again if that is the preference, but need some suggestions from you guys to the best around Sydney as I don't know many.
'The Burst Up the Bells Line...' seems interesting where abouts is that...?
I recently ran up the coast through Manly through to Dee Why, not much of a country run but was a nice place to stop off on my way up to Palm Beach.

Bells line is up out of Richmond towards Katoomba..
Hey, I know that and I'm in WA.... (but was in Richmond for several years)

Takes you out to historic Lithgow with plenty of coffee shops.
A famous m/c road, and therefore heavily policed, but it's still fun at the speed limit on an ST.

Ah, around the Blue Mountains, I see it now... I did have a run out to Glenbrook at the other end of that road, but had other things that needed doing so didn't actually hit that road, so I am up for that road if everyone likes that idea.

Hi J,
If I'm not working on long weekends, I stay at home. I think my bike will be still in pieces anyway.
Have a look at the attached map. I have done this road several times and is not bad, plenty of eats/coffee spots on the way.
If you don't mind, check out the Wingello Village Store as a possible RTE (Ride to Eat) for the future, please.

That Abe is actually a very good point, if do go out on this particular weekend we may want to consider a day that it might be less busy with people going away or coming home from a weekend away somewhere. Unfortunately the ST1100 is not really designed for filtering traffic how ever it is legal or not until July 01.
So bear in mind that when you suggest a road too... what would the Bells Line be like on a holiday weekend?

J as you can see by the map these roads are no way "the fastest" way to get there.
Lovely scenery, old buildings, burnt country side (recent bushfire, but regen happening already), dams, falls etc.
Any road heading north, south or west out of Sydney is a dogs breakfast, at the start of a long weekend and the end.

You could always go to the Rowing Regatta Cafe (Olympic site) Penrith, watch a "stay upright" class use the carpark, attend the Museum of Fire just up the road.
Could PM, Mal, he lives in the Kurrajong area (near you) and no doubt knows of a cafe or two.

Sound Good Abe. Thanks
-
Can highly recommend the Southern highlands roads for a run :thumbsup
I am off the bike at present with 3 Buldging Discs in my back :'(
But if I can get sorted by Easter will be interested in a run ++

G'day
I don't know about Easter but on the thrid and fourth of May a bunch of guys and I are headed from the Lower Hunter and Central Coast down through the tunnel tour around the centre of Sydney and out through the shire to the Rotal national Park.
Smoko is at a cafe somewhere in Brighton Le Sands, Lunch is at Scarbourough Pub Cafe.
From there we head up Macquarie Pass and down into Kangaroo Valley. Then over Cambewarra to the coast. We plan to stay somewhere between Nowra and Kiama on the Saturday.
Sunday it is up through Jamberoo to Bowral for smoko and then a race up the freeway home. Should be a good ride.
Sadly I am the only guy on a proper bike. The rest have V twin traction engines held together with leather tassles. (The bolts all fell out!) Very Quaint.
