A mate of mine wired in a similar USB converter, and after his bike sat un-used for 3 weeks, he had a flat battery. I forgot to ask him how many milliamps it drew, but his sparky was blaming the USB plug, so he wired in a switch. I'd run it off a relay personally, or in reality, my fuzeblok, but has anyone measured the current draw with nothing plugged it?

Hi, This is the one I have mounted on the left side of the handle bars. Cheap and works like a treat. Have had usb one's in the past but for some reason (5w voltage), they still wouldn't charge my iphone.
This one does it no problem, plus waterproof. Cheap and nasty I suppose but it does the job. I have the twin flat mounted ones mounted in my boat.

Gibbo,
The one that wouldnt charge your phone, probably couldnt supply the current (Amps) required, usually around 2.5A . Was it 5 Watt, or 5Volt (USB outlets are all 5 volts by the way, but varying Amps))
-
There are some different types of twin USB outlets. Some don't have the higher amp output that Brock mentions. I have some where one USB is low amp, the other Iphone and other device charge compatible.
-
Hi Brock, sorry my mistake, I meant volts. I get what your saying about the amp thing now. many thanks. Many thanks for the input to Saaz.
Cheers
