Title: Newbie
Post by: Stephen on April 16, 2014, 05:39:56 PM
Hey folks, my name is Stephen (I don't have a nickname as yet). I have recently bought an ST1100 2000 model in metallic blue. It is my first bike in a long time; its purchase was inspired by a trip to India where my wife and I briefly rode a Royal Enfield in horrific traffic conditions - I got some confidence and my wife really enjoyed the experience so when we returned we searched around for something that would take us on long trips, was built for the road and could handle well. We were talked into the ST by a friendly sales person after a long time of looking and don't have any regrets. It is the biggest and heaviest bike I have ever ridden (I am 57 years old) but I find myself riding everywhere and looking for excuses to take it out. I live in Brisbane, Woodridge actually and would like some information on the ST riders club in regards to meetings etc. Looking forward to meeting some other riders and becoming more ST literate.

Welcome again from the West Stephen.

As for meetings, we call the RTE, or Ride To Eat. This means getting on the bike, and riding about 400ks for a pie n coffee and then ride back home

Welcome Stephen. As Brock said, our 'meetings, happen at the end of a scenic ride for a chat and a coffee. There is no 'formal' club stuff happening here. Just a great bunch of people who love ST's. If you have any questions about the ST, ask away. Someone will have an answer. Check put the Queensland section for rides you may be interested in joining.
Cheers.
