Title: Newbie on board
Post by: DrDamage on May 08, 2014, 10:51:01 AM
Hi everybody,
Got a silver 1990 ST1100A and my girlfriend and I just love it! Had it for about 5 years now, it has 75k on the clock and it is still in great nick and ultra reliable.
Am also a speedway racer. Got my nickname for my uncanny knack for destroying sprintcar engines.
-Brian.

And a special hi to the thoughtful individual that left an OZSTOC card on my bike at Bowral on the weekend.
It was a delightful surprise!

Greetings Brian, from West Oz.

Its always good to get another member in here. There is a lot of knowledge held in these walls, so if you have a question just ask. If we dont know the answer, we  can always make, something that sounds good, up...

I guess A means poverty pack and L means luxo.
Much to learn I have.....
Must say the welcome is almost overwhelming.
Much better than when I joined the Ducati (bastards) club.

Would love to ride, but me and Ferrari girl are firmly committed (bad word) to work.
We will definately make a ride so that we can meet some of you crazy characters.
Early retirement is sounding better all the time.........

Hi Brian, welcome aboard.

I must admit your 1990 1100A has me somewhat confused. Information I have on hand says the first A (ABS) model came out in 1992 which would make it an 1100AN but the first A model didn't make into Australia until 1995 which would be a 1100AS.

The only to be sure  is to check the model and year code under the seat. An A model will also have a red ABS warning light come on when you turn the key.

G'day Dr Damage, welcome to the forum :hatwave
I had a 1990 ST1100 before trading it in on the ST1300, it was the start of my love of all things ST :grin
