With winter around the corner, I upgraded from my $4.99 Chinese super special heated grips to these:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/171086478190 (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/171086478190) $114 plus $12.50 delivery
Suitably impressed, they put out some great heat. Very easy install once I cleaned up the left over adhesive from the cheap warmers. In fact the left over stickiness meant I needed no further glue.
I went the adventure size, and they fit snuggly with very little to trim off the ends.
Relays not required (direct connect to battery) as the unit automatically shuts off after bike stops.
No more cold fingers, bring on winter!

Love mine now :whistle but it did take some getting use to as I had never had warmers before.....even in our climate I had gone without on previous bikes, first ride with warmers just didn't feel natural to have warm, even hot hands.......had to turn them off and introduce them a few times to get my head in the game......now it's just pure bliss :thumbsup

It takes a bit of discipline to keep gripping the bars firmly, and as soon as you let go you start to "freeze up". Anyway, it gives you something else to play with on those long cold nights. :wink1
(for once the blue winky smiley is appropriate)

Yorkie installed mine today and I used on the way home ..... mind=blown .... Love them. Could only use on lowest setting. I got the touring ones but they are a little short. Fine for me though but I would recommend the longer ones.

I have had grip warmers of some sort since the late 70s (when you had to put ceramic warmers inside the handlebars, none of this grip warmer stuff). Would never do without them.

I also have had oxford heated grips on the last 3 bikes, they are fantastic.
I added "grip puppies" which is a very thin vibration isolating foam and this adds to increased comfort on long trips, as well as vista cruize throttle lock and cramp buster for the wrist.
Also when tempratures drop (like last weekend in Melb) I add a heat warmer to the underside of my foot arches (between socks and boot) and a larger 15x15 cm pad to my lower back. they take the edge off the cold temps and are only $1.20 at camp stores or on ebay.

Hey guys,
What about a set of these?? http://zarkie.com.au/product/epic-2-0-battery-heated-gloves-new/ (http://zarkie.com.au/product/epic-2-0-battery-heated-gloves-new/)
Wouldnt that keep the heat where its wanted at the top of the fingers (thats where I get cold) rather then the palms??
Any thoughts?
Cheers!

I've used the Little Hotties in my boots and they're great.
But that price is 5 times higher than the eBay price!
Admittedly you have to buy 30 to get them at $1.20 per pair, but you could share a box around local OzSTOCers.

I saw the little ones on ebay for the price you mentioned as wellas at Aussie Disposal for $1.20 - $1.50, but I have not seen the full foot insole type I purchased today for that price. I will search a bit more.

OK- didn't realise yours are full insole. Definitely worth more in that case.
Not sure I'd need the full insole effect- even the pad on top of the foot got a bit too warm at one stage, making me put a foot out in the breeze to cool off.
