I am considering one of these for about $130 posted. Have many folks tried them?? Any feedback would be useful

I had one on my cruiser. Didn't make a difference. Ended up removing the screen which ended buffeting. YMMV.

My advice would be to go for the BikeQuip Screen. See http://www.st1300-accessories.co.uk/st1300_windscreens.html (http://www.st1300-accessories.co.uk/st1300_windscreens.html)
It's cost is not that much more, it looks neat, and does a great job, with less noise and less buffeting. It's by far it's the best addition I've made to my bike.

From memory there is a standard height and a higher screen. Which would be best? Does it make a difference.

I have the 21" x 2" wider in then light grey tint. I'm still looking over the screen all the time.

Ok. Thanks for that. We will see if the budget will let me buy one.
By the way, do you know where one can buy a dash shelf. I looked on ebay but no joy.
Thanks
So many possibilities. So little time

Pete, what do they mean by a "flip top screen"?

I have had a Laminar lip on both the 1100 and the 1300. I find that they work well.
there are more comments here http://www.st-owners.com/forums/showthread.php?63674-ST1300-Laminar-Lip-WIND-NOISE (http://www.st-owners.com/forums/showthread.php?63674-ST1300-Laminar-Lip-WIND-NOISE)

They do look ugly but are effective

I have a Laminar Lip on my 1300. I've had it fitted for the past few years and I'm honestly not sure how good they are. I think they cut down the wind a bit but then you seem to get more road noise. I've left mine on and never think much about it. I always ride with my screen in the lowest position as I don't like looking through the screen. Sorry I can't be more helpful! :grin

I saw a Dash Shelf at the following link:
