Not sure if I can make it yet, and no plans or logistics have been considered yet, but would any other OzSTOC Members be interested in a ride up to Townsville for the V8s?
Here is a link to the event...

Consider perhaps a Burpengary start and an overnight at Rocky (600kms) on Wednesday, then 700kms into T'ville for the Thursday, enjoying the festivities that are laid on, and reay for practice and qualifying on Friday, and the racing Sat and Sun.
Home on Tuesday after a Mon overnighter back at Rocky.
Costs for accomm can be shared as is usual for OzSTOC Members riding together on the road.
Expressions of interest, and advice on how to make this a great road trip are sought.
I can't see this being anything but a 'fantastic weekend' if done right. (Keep the costs down and the safety up).
Pls comment below.
Cheers, Diesel

If my daughter wasn't getting married on the 16th July I'd have to give it serious thought. Maybe next year.
I have family in both Rocky and Townsville so I should be able to get REALLY cheap accommodation. :grin

Hmmm.....can see an OzSTOC tent city in Sabie's back yard :eek :crackup
Hope Pockey doesn't see this, she has a thing for young blokes in V8's......about the only sport she ever watches on TV.

Hmmm it'd be a 25minute ride for me, I don't know, that's a fair ride.
Craig Lowndes usually stays with us and some of his mates...
On a serious note, there is a spare bedroom and plenty of yard space to camp, Tackleberry lives a bit closer to the track than me, he'd be 15 mins on a good day and about 3 hours during the race weekend.

Just checked, I'm booked for an SES 4x4 course that weekend.. so.. decision time.. getting down and dirty in a troop carrier or stand in the sun watching cars race... sorry 4x4ing wins. 8)
