He just needs help with aligning it to the direction of travel.  And maybe an alternator upgrade.

Bugger!  I'm fitting some small LED spotties, but had I known that an aircraft searchlight, or footy oval light could be fitted to a bike, I may have reconsidered.

Well after some advice from ST2UP, ABE, and then TJ supplying me with some excellent templates. The one's in the MCLs Box were unreadable. :-[
So thanks to all the above I have the HIDs mounted under the mirrors. :thumb

When I had the VFR, which these HID cannons were mounted to, I found that dropping to low beam was very disconcerting in heavy roo country. Eg Like St Lawrence to Sarina. An area I know well having lived in Clermont for twelve years doing the loop to Rocky, Mackay and home, fairly often riding the above section at night or very early morning.
And then flicking back to high beam, the HIDs took time to come to full power.
I notice that many of you have TWO sets of d/lights, and wonder if these are halogen or LEDs which I would think are probably better in  areas where there is more oncoming traffic, giving you instant light on going back to high beam.

I am running the LED's as the second set, but when LED's can give a pencil beam that can match my HID pencil beam I will change the HID to LED.
MY Headlights are HID

TJ What has your experience of the HID headlights been? I assume you have high/low beam HID bulbs?

I only had HID low beams on the VFR and they were superb, terrific spread and depth. ++ In fact the low beam depth was such that using the Halogen high beams, was hardly worthwhile, really just there to get the Cannons back on.

The original setup of the HID headlights were great, well I thought they were, however there was still the issue of the cut off so as not to blind others.  I was comfortable in how it was all going but then saw what Ray had done.  This convinced me that it was the way to go.
I have yet to test them on a long trip but so far I am very pleased with the improvement.
