GO THE TOADS!!!
Whoops! :H :spank :eek :o :-X :'(
I thought this game would b decided by the halves - with Cooper Cronk knocked out so early maybe it was.
Anyway a really excellent game with the Bananabenders 2 come back 4.sure!

I thought Qld were a little unlucky not to have won the game, but, they didn't, did they!! :cuss
-
Such a close scoreline! Could have gone either way, that's for sure. The home-ground advantage had to be a help. The weight of expectation after 8 years coming second would have been huge. Guess that's why they were crying their eyes out when they did get lucky.
BTW- do I get lucky tomorrow? Does this machine pay 5555? Will come up with the library posting in the morning. :grin

They had 8 years of being lucky. Now for 3-0.

Eight years of being "lucky"!! :spank
I do hope they make the most of their win this year because they're going to have a long wait to be in the same position again!! :grin

Well done NSW, it's been almost a decade and a dour ruck-it-up game where EVERYONE played like a rugby union forward and back line play was put aside for the occasion as being too risky I suppose.
The only thing resembling back line play won NSW the game when Hodkinson dummied and went over for the winning try after Hayne in his own brilliant way saved the night for NSW when he slipped his arm in to dislodge the ball from Thaiday as he looked certain to score the try that would have made the score 10-zip after the conversion in front.
But it was not to be as the Hayne factor saved the day for the Blues.
My son, Andrew ST.George, won a six-pack off me, (coz I always bax the Toads (coz I used to play footy up there before Origin started and remember the bad old days when big Artie Beetson used to play for NSW)).
What Andrew doesn't realise is that the six-pack could be a half-dozen eggs (that he sometimes consumes in a day) or maybe even one of my two six-packs that I am currently carrying in the stomach area. I could go for runs around the block until one of them wears away and thank him for the gift of good health. Sadly he will probably go for the hopoholic option and not share them with me coz he reckons I enjoy the home brew enough not to need it. He's right. Anyway, cockroaches, your day has come but be wary of the wounded Canetoad in Brisvegas.

Queensland robbed of a chance to at 9 up by bad referring
Haynes stripped the ball of Thaiday sould have been a penalty try
And Woods touch of the ball from the kick off should have been a line drop out
But referee's don't make mistakes :spank

As a rule, I don't follow league as religiously as others, but if Thaiday had stripped the ball from Haynes and scored, would the Qld supporters have howled about it? or if one to the Qld players had touched the ball after kick off, and the ref did nothing about it, would anything be said by the Maroon supporters?
I'd bet quids they'd be as quiet as mice, and say that's just the luck of the game.
Just saying….

Well Qld might have lost out to NSW in State of Origin, but that didn't stop them winning the National State Championships U15s at Tamworth today!! And why am I so wrapped......well, apart from being an ex banana bender myself, my grandson, Jayden Bishop was captain of the State team, and after winning today he was chosen in the Australian Team. I should add that Jayden has won Queensland player of the year for the past 2 years and 6 months ago was signed up under contract with the Bronco's for 3 years..............Jayden's only just turned 15 years of age, stands 6'1'' and weighs over 90kgs. He's got a great football future ahead of him and I can't wait to watch him play Origin one day, and when he does...........watch out Blues!! Ha!!
Am I a proud Grandad?? You bet ya darn tooty I am!! :grin

Couch,
Congratulations to Jayden.
I guess by the time he gets to play Origin it might be time for QLD to win again.
