I not sure if I had ever heard about them , certainly never taken much notice until I saw them featured in "Britain's Greatest Machines" on TV last night.

If, in the most fortunate circumstance you do find yourself in a the position with a spare $72k to play with, I would think spending it on repo BS is pointless. Coz it just isn't anythink like the original. They could, at least have stayed with a 'V' twin shape and not gone with the 'L' twin.  :fp

...it's original, it will only appreciate in value and presently you could reasonbly expect to trouser a few $k in change from ya $72k, even for one with matching numbers.

If I had $72K to spend on a bike, I would get a couple or three STs, so that I had some thing to ride for a long long time o:) o:)
