Title: Dragging brakes
Post by: kiwisteed on June 23, 2014, 03:26:17 PM
If i don't use the ST for a few days, when I go to move it the front brakes are really dragging  :cuss and makes it really hard to move the thing. Anyone had this problem ? I was thinking stuck pistons in the callipers maybe........

Could be an air bubble in the callipers, that can cause strange things to happen. The brakes dont normally go on by them selves.

Had a similar problem. Calliper overhaul is the answer.

As you are in NZ it could be surface rust on the disc due to moist air.

My young bloke went away for a week and left his out in the rain. Every time he moved the wheel it was tight and when he applied the brakes, it sounded like metal on metal.

After a few corners, all was good again.
