Hello all,
Long time lurker, first time poster. This is a terrific site, great atmosphere and heaps of relevant information. I'm new to ST's, but not new to bikes. I've had a variety of bikes, from a Vulcan cruiser, to an FZR. I've most recently been travelling around on a KLR650. My poor KLR suffered a coronary failure after throwing an exhaust cam through the head, so I started hunting around for a replacement.
I'd been admiring the Sports Tourer type bikes for some time, and stumbled across a red 2008 ST1300 at a dealer. One test ride and I was head over heels in love. Three weeks and 2000kms later and I couldn't be happier. More importantly, Mrs Bimble is in love with the pilllion arrangement. Poor thing suffered for too many years on the back of the KLR.
The nickname? Refers to my prefered travelling pace. Google explains it best:
bim·ble/ˈbimbəl/
verb
walk or travel at a leisurely pace.
noun
a leisurely walk or journey.
Once I get some photos, I'd be interested in seeing if anyone knows my Pan or her history.
Cheers,
Bimble.

Wow,
Thanks for the great welcome guys. I certainly look forward to meeting some of you on a ride in the future. I've included a pic of the Pan in the hope that the previous owner might be on here, or someone might know her history.
Thanks again for the warm welcome, I look forward to finding an area where I can contribute to the collected knowledge on this forum.

Welcome Bimble, you may have to change your sign in as we all know red ones go faster. ;-*
Sorry I can't help you with any history of your new toy. Looks like it has several mods, besides the pillion arm rests, top box stop light and riders back rest are there any we can't see in the photo?

Welcome to the zoo Bimble :hatwave
If you bought the ST from the Honda Shop in Midland, I know most of its history.
Owned by careful, owners ( 1st brother sold it to the last owner, elder brother, who just got fed up with too many near misses and gave bikes away :spank) who looked after it well.
You bought a 'Goodun'

Poppy Dave, that's exactly where I bought it. So pleased to hear it's been looked after.

G'day WAG,
No argument about red going faster :thumb The Pan also has a throttle lock and a couple of clamps on the handlebar, I also believe it has bar risers, but will need to see another bike to be sure. Best excuse ever for coming along on the next ride! :whistle
