Ok silly question here!
i have the new ram mount bolt to put on the ST1300, and i need to remove the left hand bolt from the handlebar to swap it with the Bolt for the Ram Mount Ball, but I can seem to get the cap off the bolt....
or am i just stupid?

They just pop out.....slip a pointy little knife blade under the cap, don't forget to use a torque wrench to re tighten :like

they are not, but i am going to see if they have a matching bolt in stock that is longer.....

What would you do mate, would you cut the existing thread off the ram ball and weld a new bolt on??
-
Streak, my Migsel Dash Mount arrived today and I fitted it up late this arvo, don't know if you've seen one before but they're very impressive, you can fit either one, two, or three Ram balls to them and they're at eye level! :wink1

Umm. OK. What's holding the ball to the bolt?
And how do you torque down the new bolt onto the handlebars?

the bolt goes through the ball which is made out of the appropriate materials for strength, and you torque it down the same as you would any other bolt :grin

Good one! Hadn't realised you can pull the factory bolt out of the RAM ball and push a longer one through. Obviously you've then got the Allen key head to tighten it. All the RAM balls I've had were spherical with no top access, although looking at their catalogue now I see the type you have.

He tricked me as well Biggles, any Ram balls that I've come across have been solid...........so there ya go!! :grin
