Have recently joined ozstoc having bought an 01, st1100. My bike is my car so I ride everywhere in all weathers. Based in Samford QLD, anyone else live in the area? Will be doing a major service on the bike soon, so will be asking for advice along the way. But in the meantime I have 3 questions. Can anyone recommend a tank bag arrangement? I'm (well my wifey actually) wanting a back rest to fit honda original top box if anyone has one available. Thirdly would like to get a more comfortable seat. Any recommendations?

Welcome to the site, I'm sure all your questions will be answered soon.
A good quick way to sort out your seat is to visit a local motot trimmer, and see if they can rework it for you. While you at it, he could axdjust it so that the leg height can suit you better.

You will find all the enlightenment you seek on your 1100 right here on the forum.....loads of seat options for your, you can buy after market seats from the likes of Corbin or have a trimmer work his magic.
MJM in Goulbourn NSW , John Moorehouse in QLD or TC near Taree
Checkout the Member Map and add your location pin......that will give you a good idea of we're most are. don't forget to check out the Rides To Eat (RTE) in your riding area.

Welcome 007! :hatwave
Keep an eye out for a white ST1300 out your way avid is a member here (Strider20?) . Can be seen on regular Sunday rides over Glorious, Kilcoy, Woodford and back to Samford.
John Moorehouse and his brother both modify seats. John gets you to sit on your existing seat and takes some photos and then modifies teh seat to suit your bum. the only drawback is you have to leave it with him for a couple of days.
Like you I ride all weather so I haven;t had teh opportunity to do that with this bike.
Some people swear by Sheepskin Seat covers, others by Air Hawk pads and some others recommend Gel seat pads.
A colleague who rides a lot of long distances recommended to me during the week not to wear ordinary jocks with the seam under the crease betwen bum and leg. He recommends boxers with stretch materials that don't have seams that go across you backside/legs.
Hope that helps.

Welcome on in 007. In regards to what Gary said I just ordered some "skins" that should alleviate that "pain in the @ss".
I posted a link on the OzSTOC Facebook site. Other place for that type of gear is to Google LD Comfort.
Enjoy the info on here.

Meanwhile I just bought proper gel seat and put a goat skin (homemade) on that and it seems to work for us. But even without the skin a 600 km return day ride the seat is still ok for us.
