QUEENSLANDERS

How big is the trailer and is it insured?
I'm on the North side of Brisbane, so if its not too big and you can't get anyone else, I'll borrow my son's car (Mazda 3) and go pick it up for you. Might have to tax it with a trip to the tip to get rid of some rubbish. :grin
-
Gary, it's a trailer to tow behind the bike, but it will tow on a car, haha I don't think it will hold much rubbish lol,,I've just purchased it tonight, so at moment, no insurance on it, but the guy is going to put 6 months ticket on it tomoz.

Looks like it has a flat plug, so that shouldn't be a problem.
How soon does it need to be picked up?
-
I think the guy is expecting it picked up this weekend, but not sure, if you pm me your mobile I can text you the address and his number, and you could call him and make arrangements to suit both of ya

Jack,
Steve, the previous owner of the trailer, said to let you know that when you set up the tow ball on your bike, to make absolutely sure you get the very centre of the ball at the same height as your axle. And to do that make sure it is with the bike loaded as if you were riding it. i.e one up or two up.
His reasoning is that if the centre of the ball is above the axle it will try to stand the bike back up mid corner or if it is lower it will try to push the tyre out from under you.
Makes sense from a physics point of view.
-
>:() aw naw that sounds fairly technical ,
Ok Gary will try my best,
Thanks for that, will need to get that sorted then.

As long as you get the tow bar as near as possible to axle height then you'll be ok. It's more a compromise on what you tow. Sometimes I ride two up with the trailer, sometimes on my own. Sometimes the bike is loaded to the max and others there's just a few items and depends on the trip. Sometimes the trailer in near empty if we take it for a shopping trip. To many variables for one setting so get the best you can.
You may need to adjust your preload and rebound on your rear shock to compensate for the added weight.
This is the best I can get mine with bike unloaded and on its side stand. Draw bar on trailer and towbar on bike inline with each other while towing. The trailer coupling is the original classic one supplied with the trailer when new over 20 years ago.

Geez Cooman, I knew Melbourne was a fair way south but I never realised that was that far south that things were actually upside down compared to here!
Glad you got the help you needed and got home safely
