My latest farkle:
The location a 12v plug loose under the side of the seat annoyed me, so...
I purchased a Hella Type/Continental DIN socket from ebay uk
www.towzatronics.co.uk (http://www.towzatronics.co.uk)
8.95 GBP ($10.00 aud )
I installed the socket onto the black Battery cover, Right side of bike. The connections are blade type, I added in line fuse and heat shrunk red/black all areas for insullation and
cable tied to other components so no rubbing / chaffing.
The male plug i added onto the original plug charger and now this can double as booster cable for other bikes cars if I ever get a flat battery or need to assist others.
works well and the socket cover fits snugly to avoid dust and moisture. :thumbs

Those sockets are readily available in Jaycar/repco etc also known as BMW sockets
-
Yep they are...but not 10 AUD for socket and plug and they are cheap quality....
-
They are also known as a Merit plug, Narva make them too ;-*
They were all the rave when cig plugs were not so reliable....maker a nice finish to a job if its a low amp installation.....for higher amp, dirty environment and vibration it's hard to go past an Anderson plug :like

You did well. The rate today for £8.95 returns AUD16.23
Great to have a firm, tidy installation. ++
