Here's the prototype in a Tokyo show but not sure when. It was rumoured at the time to replace the 1100 and the 1300 does have some similar features such as tail and head lights plus the bit where you can see the motor. The way the side cases attach to the bike are much the same as well.

Gotta say, that is one mean machine, I am never one for tech stuff, but that is truly amazing. If reliability comes with it, it has to be a winner.................................................... :wht11

It looks like an ST13 with a Batman-inspired over-sized front cowl.  :grin

And Beemer panniers.    :eek

That was in 1999.
Is the ST what they boiled that down to? 
If not, why so long moving to this one with all that electrickery?

I cant see how the frontwheel moves sideways in the small gap in the fairing. Concepts dont have to go on the road I guess.
