Title: Crash Card for Motorcyclists
Post by: alans1100 on August 28, 2014, 08:40:10 PM
It seems this has recently started up in the UK....and started by bike riders who work for the Ambulance service.

My understanding is not to remove the helmet, also don't think anybody would look inside the helmet after removal.

Cool idea  :like

Prior to and after helmet removal Ambo's/Paramedics always have a thorough inspection of the helmet and convey it to the emergency dept with the patient.....the helmet damage conveys just some of the history of the incident.....so the card would be located :thumbsup

Good idea, wonder if the RACQ and other associated auto clubs would be interested in sponsoring the card??

I had considered having a set of these "Dog Tags" made, for those times when I'm travelling alone.
It's another option for ID and medical history if I was injured and unable to communicate.

Hi Chaps,
(and Ladies)

I have just completed a first aid course for motorcycle riders (first response) at Ryde Royal Injury Rahabilition Hospital ( and received an accredited certificate) was a special price course at $55 as we arranged about 20 members on the night.

THEY HANDED OUT HELMET STICKERS STATING ( DO NOT REMOVE HELMET ) unless not breathing. as the newest thing for survival, as removing the helmet can cause death or serious permanent injury. ( they also teach you how to remove a helmet from an injured rider if you need to do mouth to mouth.)
