Title: Bike Marshaling.
Post by: Brock on September 08, 2014, 12:20:52 PM
There is an opening for two bike Marshals (at least)  on Sunday 14 Sep ( this Sunday ) at Lancelin. It will be a longish day, having to ride to Lancelin by about 0730-0800 for check in and briefing.

This is a late call, as the regular guys are unavailable  (Bloodbikes??).

The ST is perfect for the Job. Lunch and Coffee vouchers are provided, and a loaner first aid kit if you dont have one.

Here is the email address,  events@bwa.org.au  and Hazel is the contact (Telephone:(08) 6336 9696) . Having UHF will be of benefit to us, for bike to bike Comms, but wont contact event control.  Post here and/or contact hazel for info package. There is some paperwork to fill in, but I have a PDF Form that can be filled in and emailed back.

Link to the event.

I've done that.  Good fun, but a bit further than I like to ride for a day's outing.
Recommend it to the WestOzzies for something different to do on your ST.

It is a bit of fun, its long hours in the saddle, and you need a bike like the ST, to handle the distance involved. Its not unusual to have a 400K day for a 100K pushbike ride.

Unfortunate timing, I will be in Busselton looking after my father.

Weather should be good though.

Regards

HOFFY.

Unfortunately it's my wife's birthday and I still need to get
That front tyre replaced before I ride a distance like that, I've looked
at the course and it seems part of it is unsealed (gravel) so maybe
someone with a trail bike would be better than the ST on that part
would be better suited.

Sorry Brock, can't make it...................... I've got a bone in my leg.

Seriously, I don't know when I'll be riding my bike next. My left knee's playing up again and it looks like I'll need another op on it. I've only managed to ride the bike 5 times ( 4 for about 50 k's and one to Bindoon) since retirement (31st March). I may end up on a trike, who knowns.

Have fun,

You and Winston could form your own STrike section on the forum.
