I am on my third 1100, some say i need help.
the first two did over 270,000km with out any water leaks.
this morning i spotted a few greeny coloured drops from my latest bike with only 58,000km.
fortunately it is not my daily ride yet, so i have time to fix.
how many stubbies to fix?

if its not from any of the hoses you can see,
top & bot of radiator or around the rad cap then you need to remove you carbs.
add more stubbies
I am not sure as to time as I have stripped Rhonda right back .
I am replacing all my hose with new ones as I do not want have a problem like HarryG had out on a big ride.

I did the job with NO stubbies, but I dont drink.. :thumb
I had the water leak thing happen to me and found the two elbows

where the radiator hoses are in the V were cracked, a common problem I believe with wear.
JOINT, WATER 19523-MT3-000 2 part # be careful how you tighten them down when replacing so you dont 'crack' the new ones :eek I think you do the high side up firST then the low side and then tension both.
you will have to lift the carbies and its suggeSTed to sinc the carbs after..
this is where the coolant was running out, over the alternator, :think1 which probly help to create the alternator problem I had later on... a coSTly repair to avoid.

If you have to take carbs off then get the fuel return pipes while you are there and replace them. Check the "disaster sadness and tears" thread for part numbers.

Over time they tend to harden up a little so I bought new ones when I did mine and put a film Vaseline on the ends to make them slide in easier.

Or get a Wombat ...... He has plenty of experience with it now and makes it look easy ...... :nahnah :nahnah

DON"T use Vaseline, it is petroleum based, use a good rubber lube.

what ever is on hand at the time and works is good enough.
