Hi All,
first off, thanks to everyone who helped me out 6 months ago with the problem with getting the 660 working after a year away living in Viet Nam.
Turned out all that was needed was the lasted firmware (?) up-date on-line from Garmin Aust.
Unplugging it and leaving it turned on until the battery went almost totally flat, (totally blank screen) plugged it back into the Garmin site and it automatically re-charged the battery to a full charge. Been working 'almost' perfectly ever since. :thumbsup
When I say 'almost', that's because it was purchased way back in 2010 or '11 sometime so the maps are somewhat out of date. Whole suburbs are missing, never mind all the street changes. >:()
OK - looked up the Garmin web site, just to buy a one year up-date on-line costs USA $99.99 ! :eek
Considering the up-date maps for the USA, about the same physical size as Australia but with a damned sight more cities and roads, etc. is only US $49.99 - as other members have said in the past, we're getting totally ripped off here in Australia (again) ! :cuss :||||
MAYBE - can anyone advice me about this little item on Fleabay ? ( eBay item number : 321528741829 )
Just wish to be sure it won't stuff up my ZUMO 660 and that these CD's really do work as advertized.
Checked and according to their list it will work in the ZUMO 660 without any problems.
Has anyone used this CD or know someone who has ?
All advice and / or ideas will be very greatly appreciated. :thumbsup

Might require some more thought.
Bugs the hell out of my because my wife brought me a miniSD card with all of SE Asia pre-loaded from Singapore for about US $50
Including postage and import tax, into Viet Nam, that worked perfectly in a smaller model Gamin Zumo in 2012.
Probably not a genuine Garmin but it worked perfectly. In - Viet Nam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Kampuchea.

Right now my laptop is dying a slow death. :'(
Some lovely person downloaded a photo on the international ST Owner's web site about 2 weeks ago, along with the photo was a calming little Trojan horse and most probably something else equally as nasty. :||||
Although my Kaspersky anti virus software blocked and quarantined the damned thing, part of it slipped through and is slowing corrupting the Windows 8.1 in my laptop. :CB--
Going to need to totally wipe the HD completely clean and re-install a completely new copy of Windows 8.1 right from the start all over again.
Once everything is up and running properly, then I'll be able to check out that web site and see how it goes for new and up to date set of maps for the ZUMO 660. :clap

It must target Windows 8.1 specifically, because no one else has mentioned it.
Have you any idea what the photo was? I'm deducing you downloaded a copy of the photo to your computer, since just having it appear in a webpage shouldn't infect your computer.
I hadn't previously heard of photos being able to transmit a computer virus.

Before you go down that drastic route try system restore first. It's not easy to find in WIN8.1 but it is there.
It will come up with a search. It also gives you the option to set your own restore point but it doesn't effect your personal stuff, only the system.
If that fails then you should be able to do a factory restore from the protected partition on your hard drive.
As Biggles suggested, this coming from a photo is almost unheard of and in any case you should get a threat warning come up before any harm is done.
