Great idea, but... I don't think my panniers are big enough to carry one on camping trips?

A simple and elegant water harvesting solution. It is a great idea and I will be highlighting it and ideas like it to my students when we again cover water issues. Thanks for the link! :)

With a bit of tweaking, and attention to materials and joins, the structure could probably be made collapsible too, for ease of distribution and deployment in remote areas.

I'm not convinced that a) it would collect sufficient water to meet the needs of many people given that the average human requires 3 Liters / per day in optimal environmental conditions with minimal activity. An African villager would require at least triple that as an example. and B) being built of the stated material would make it extremely vulnerable to the elements, wind, storms, heat.
Nevertheless a great concept.
